The film stars JoAnn F. Peterson who is an absolute delight as the title character! A Promise to Astrid was filmed last year in Bridgeport, WV and based on a true story about a remarkable woman who used random acts of kindness to change the lives of an entire community. The screenplay was adapted for JC Films by Michael K. Tourville - from his award-winning book A Promise to Astrid: A True Story - and Jason Campbell.
